It's almost 10am on Labor Day here in Philadelphia, and it's raining. Therefore, we'll be canceling today's Hang Free due to weather. No one will want to sit on wet grass, and we're looking at a high chance of rain showers for the rest of the afternoon.
A quick thanks to all of the DJ's who were booked to come spin for us today, hopefully, you can rejoin us at a future Hang Free next year. Feel free to tune into the DJ Sets from our Memorial Day event, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year in Fairmount Park!

Sorry for the late announcement folks!
On Monday, September 2nd - Labor Day, 2013, we'll be having our
final Hang Free of the 2013 season. We expect to be up and running by noon
on Monday, and going until dark (probably around 7pm). Directions to
our location in Fairmount Park are at the right.
Hang Free is a free, bi-annual outdoor party that occurs in Fairmount
Park in Philadelphia. We provide DJ's spinning music in an outdoor,
casual atmosphere, where there is no cost to hang and listen.
It might Rain! Please bookmark and check this web site for a last-minute update at noon on Monday with the Weather Prediction.
This Labor Day Monday our DJ guests include the usual equipment-dragging resident, DJ Under along with first-time guest Sir Philltotts, spinning an early reggae set. Returning from years past, DJ Argo will be playing Brazillian soul & house. Old school legend Maggy's Rooftop Aerial will be bringing a special 60's/70's/summer of love/woodstock/hippy/haight-asbury set. Wrapping up our day, longtime supporter DJ Linda Leigh spinning an extra-long (Latin, Moomba, Deep House) tag-team set with her friend DJ D.R.E.O..
We're fully aware that the Made In America Festival (link) will be happening over the weekend, but this shouldn't affect us on Monday. Hopefully the concert crowd will leave Fairmount Park in better condition than when they showed, but we'll see on Monday!
Each Hang Free guarantees some sport & fun (such as touch football or
frisbee or volleyball) with friends and soon-to-be friends. Over the
years, we've become more pet-friendly and child friendly, offering
play for all ages and a friendly welcoming crowd. Plus, you get an
eclectic soundtrack to picnic your day away with Philadelphia's
hippest DJ's and sound makers.
It's hard to say a week away, but the weather predicted for next
Monday predicts scattered thunderstorms, 84 degree weather, and a 7:30pm sunset. If it rains
on Monday, we will cancel Hang Free due to the weather. We haven't had much luck with a rain-free Labor Day in a few years, so we'll see how Mother Nature likes us this year.

We'll announce our Labor Day DJ lineup next monday for our final Hang Free of 2013 on September 2nd, 2013. We'll have some new friends, and some old ones coming to DJ for you. The weather looks like it's going to cooperate with us this year, with slightly cooler temperatures hovering around the mid-70s all day. Bring your sweatshirts & long pants just in case - it gets cool in the shade!
We've double-confirmed all of our DJ's and timeslots, and hope to present an eclectic soundtrack to while away your first day of summer! We're glad to have the great help from Bobby Gregerson, who'll be assisting us with transporting all of our PA gear, and saving us from renting a not-so-cheap hourly van.

first Hang Free of the 2013 season. We expect to be up and running by 1pm

This year, we're very happy to have some old friends at Hang Free along with resident DJ Under.
Our good friend DJ Bill Gat will be be back behind the decks (and out from
behind the bar) for the first time since 2005! Joining again since his last set
in 2008, DJ Josh Stahl will give us another dose of his dubby samplings.
Mr. Tripper gladly helps us out in a pinch with another classic set - he's
become quite the regular at our events lately! Leaving his beloved Cafe
Chimosa for a few hours, DJ Jugo will be offering up an old-school vinyl set.
Wrapping up our Memorial Day lineup, we'll be graced with a set from DJ June Lopez.
