Pre 9/11, these not real rubbings of distressed manhole covers that mimic local Philadelphia area ones was part of a four-part oversize black and white print series that I'd conjured up when Kinko's had cheap 69ยข laser blowups to 18" x 24" prints. The slug was about how much 'street cred' my tiny firm had, where our domain name and business name slipped in to the design.
