Cassandra Peterson is a lovely Vegas showgirl whose one character has far outshadowed her former self: Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (a character she invented in 1981!)

Underneath the wig, carefully reinforced costume and layers of makeup is a lovely redheaded beauty who I'm sure is free to roam without the fame-seeking fans, albeit with hordes of nearby men watching her every move (she's still a hottie!).

I had the absolute pleasure hanging with Elvira one Halloween a few years back, and managed to get some alone time with her in the back of the bus (my costume is 'Dirty Laundry'). She was quite frank in our conversations about her fame and celebrity, and she obviously loved her career, and meeting new people and fans the world round.
