The weather looks like it's going to cooperate with us this year, with cloudy skies and temperatures creeping up to the mid-80's during the afternoon.
We've double-confirmed all of our DJ's and timeslots, and hope to present an eclectic soundtrack to while away your last day of summer! Don't forget that we'll be asking for donations to help cover the costs of this free event, we appreciate your support!
We should be up and running by noon, and we'll be playing music until sunset tonight (7:30pm)! Bring Good Friends, Blankets, a Picnic, Good Attitudes, Frisbees & Hackysacks - Don't worry about the Cost - Just Hang Free!

On Monday, September 5th - Labor Day, 2016, we'll be having our first Hang Free of the 2016 season. We expect to be up and running by noon on Monday, and going until sunset (probably around 8pm). Note, we will be at a brand new location in Fairmount Park, behind the Please Touch Museum and Memorial Hall in West Philadelphia. We'll be at a lovely spot located on Cedar Grove Drive (Link to Google Map). There's a small lot for parking, and easy bike and walking access.
Hang Free is a free, bi-annual outdoor party that occurs in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. We provide DJ's spinning music in an outdoor, casual atmosphere, where there is no cost to hang and listen. It should be a lovely day to enjoy Philadelphia's gorgeous public parks with friends and loved ones.
This Memorial Day Monday our DJ guests include the usual equipment-dragging residents, DJ Linda Leigh spinning an extra-long tag-team set with her partner in all things auditory DJ D.R.E.O.. We'll also be joined by plenty of new faces and some old ones as well; speaking of new, joining us for this event is Chris Wilk (Booth). Sam & Nicole will play for us under the name Alien Fuel. We'll also be joined by long-time DJ and Philadelphia noisemaker Jeff Heart from Wiggle Productions. Wrapping up our day will be a another Philadelphia DJ godfather: DJ Big Daddy Blake, who's last visit was way back in 2002! We look forward to hearing this powerhouse lineup on this (hopefully) warm fall day.

Each Hang Free guarantees some sport & fun (such as touch football or frisbee or volleyball) with friends and soon-to-be friends. Over the years, we've become more pet-friendly and child friendly, offering play for all ages and a friendly welcoming crowd. Plus, you get an eclectic soundtrack to picnic your day away with Philadelphia's hippest DJ's and sound makers.
It's hard to say a few weeks away, but the weather predicted for our Monday event predicts a 88 degree day and a 7:23pm sunset. Please check this website on Monday for our noon announcement of event weather plans! We will not send any email updates beyond our event announcement a week prior.

It's almost 11:30am on Memorial Day here in Philadelphia, it's been raining overnight and we're looking at a rain showers for the rest of the afternoon. Plus, our generator is acting up, so we'll be cancelling today's Hang Free due to weather, as no one will want to sit on wet grass. Sorry!
A quick thanks to all of the DJ's who were booked to come spin for us today, hopefully, you can rejoin us at a future Hang Free (Maybe this Labor Day?). Feel free to tune into the DJ Sets from our previous events or peruse our photos for nostalgia, and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon in Fairmount Park!
